Who We Are

Cory Hughes
Proprietor & BOH Operations Manager
Cory has brought joy and passion to the diners of the Pittsburgh region for more than two decades. Known throughout the community for his culinary work at renowned restaurants that include Café at the Frick, Spoon, Eleven, and Six Penn, Cory has also worked as the Chef at Google, Steelers Training Camp, and Farmaid. The Le Cordon Bleu graduate’s most recent venture is as Proprietor and Head Chef at the award-winning Fig & Ash. Fat Cat (named after Cory’s cat Singe) is the chance to serve up chef’d-up bar bites in a fun, playful, retro setting that he’s always dreamt of opening.

Alex Feltovich
Proprietor & FOH Operations Manager
Alex has had a culinary and service and hospitality career journey that has brought him to the mountains and back to Pittsburgh’s Northside. After a 17-year tenure at St. Clair Country Club, he lived and worked producing organic plants and proteins on a sustainable hog farm in Oregon. His front-of-house credits include Six Penn Kitchen, Spork, and Cioppino, and most recently as Proprietor and Front-of-House Operations Manager at Fig & Ash. Fat Cat is Alex’s envisioned merger of chill vibes, a friendly inviting atmosphere, a great selection drinks and approachable fare, and of course live music–coming soon!
